In my opinion the movie talks about the fears of people. Since there are many people who unlike me (for instance) believe that control your life, but one day they realize that something can make you "ding" or just your best friends or the person I hate most in the world can change or disappear ... and then you realize you've never controlled your life and all of what both bragged and made you feel so sure they were just lies.
